Thousands Ride City-Funded Water Taxi During Art Week Miami Beach

The City of Miami Beach’s water taxi service transported 14,046 passengers during Art Week 2024, connecting Miami Beach’s Sunset Harbour to Miami’s Sea Isle Marina. The service, which operated every 15 minutes, provided an alternative route for residents and visitors during the week-long art fairs and events.

The water taxi service was part of the city’s taxpayer funded Art Week transportation program, which included a shuttle bus system linking areas within Miami Beach and mainland Miami. The combined services transported over 23,000 riders during art week – 14,046 by water taxi and 9,142 via the shuttle system, according to data provided by city officials. Additionally, during the three-day weekend, over 32,000 rides were completed on Miami Beach’s bike share system, setting a new record for the program, according to company officials.
