The City of Miami Beach has released the proposed $828.6 million budget for fiscal year 2024, which runs from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024. This represents an increase of $95.5 million or 13.0% over last year’s $733.1 million budget.
The general fund budget would increase by $44.4 million or 11.6% to $427.0 million in FY2024.
Police and fire services would account for 61% of general fund expenditures. The city’s workforce would expand to 2,276 positions, an increase of 56 positions or 2.5% compared to the 2,220 approved positions for FY2023.
The proposed $828.6 million FY2024 budget will go before the City Commission for first approval on September 13th.
